Nature’s Awakening

The pale night sky begins to lighten
As dawn’s rosy fingers stretch and heighten
Stars fade away one by one
Making way for a new day’s sun

From behind the horizon’s edge, it rises
Spilling color as the dark sky alights
Oranges, pinks, and bursts of gold
Warms the land left cold

Nature stirs with the early calls
Of birds awakening in treetop halls
A cardinal’s cheery greeting rings
As robins flutter and sweetly sing

The trees stand in silhouette
Against the brightening palette
Of the newborn eastern sky
As night makes its final sigh

Creatures great and small emerge
From where the daylight does not purge
As the sun lifts higher each hour
Bringing life and energy’s dower

Its warmth spreads all around
Chasing shadows to the ground
A pledge of hours in dawn’s gentle plea,
On this day anew, with blessings free

The sunrise’s song, now in full play,
From our hearts, morning’s beauty finds its way
To praise the day’s rebirth each new morn
Of nature’s music, we too can be reborn
