The Horrible Night
Sleeping in an open dark sky
With the fear of last sleep
Among the rubble of devastated buildings
Without the comfort of bed and blankets
The chill of the Mediterranean Sea ripping my dreams
Piercing into my tired but strong body
Layers of torn clothes are not enough
Compelling to put stones in front of me
Screech of F 17 enhancing fear among children
Roaming over their heads
Bombing and demolishing their schools, houses, and hospitals
Slaughtering innocent children and unarmed civilians
This horrible night will pass
A dawn will come
This sleep will end
Either in peace or in heaven
