Isn’t it the worst feeling in the world?

You’ve followed all the advice of the fake self-improvement gurus.

This is how I imagine you:

You wake up from your bed full of energy. You’re ready to improve yourself.

After showering, you get to your desk with your pen and journal.

You load up the video of your favourite self-improvement guru, ready to write down everything he preaches word for word in your journal.

You finish watching it and get ready for work. You give off this aura that you’re better than who you were yesterday.

Yet after you’ve finished your work and gotten home to your family, you don’t feel like you’ve improved.

You wonder: Was I wrong to follow this, my self-improvement coach?

Yes, you’re mistaken for choosing your self-improvement coach.

I will share three practices self-improvement gurus like Jordan Peterson and Robert Kiyosaki follow.

Besides, don’t you want to be the best in your social network?

So, let’s dive in.

1. They are always learning.

To improve yourself, you must always humble yourself to learn ways to improve yourself.

It is only by learning you can improve yourself.

In a 2021 study, researchers split students into two groups. They wanted to know which group would do well on a test.

The group that kept studying and related what they learned to the outside world saw better grades on their test than the other group.

Even Robert Kiyosaki believes that a trait shared by successful people, including him, is to learn.

The most successful people in life are the ones who ask questions. They’re always learning. They’re constantly growing.

I am interested in improving myself, so I learn by:

  • Reading a book by a trusted self-improvement guru like Robert Kiyosaki for 30 minutes.
  • I do this before I go to work.

2. They don’t compare themselves with others.

Self-improvement influencers are confident. They aren’t insecure. They know their worth and don’t need to prove it to anyone.

They don’t compare themselves with others.

I’m sure you constantly compare yourself with others. You always look for situations where you’d be the first, not the last.

A self-improvement influencer, Sarvesh Jain, supports the idea that comparison only destroys you…

…Besides if you want to improve yourself, you wouldn’t want to destroy yourself.

Comparing yourself with others is one of the highest forms of self-destruction and people who love themselves don’t destroy themselves.

Something most self-improvement gurus don’t do is to compare themselves with others.

And this has paid off for them.

This is how I prevent myself from comparing with others:

  • I meditate for 5 minutes after I finish reading a book so that I’ll be aware of when I’m comparing myself to others
  • I don’t hang out with those that make me feel worthless.

3. They don’t complain

In the final chapter of his book, 12 Rules For Life, Dr. Jordan Peterson talks about his daughter, who had juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.

He said dealing with this illness was stressful for his life and family.

Although he had the option to blame God for what had happened to his daughter…

…He decided to use it to improve his life and marriage.

This is what real self-improvement influencers do.

This is their #1 secret to improve themselves. They don’t complain.

If there are people as great as them who don’t complain when life gets difficult, you don’t have the right to complain when life gets tough.

Whenever life gets challenging for me, I don’t complain, but I handle it by doing these things:

  • I look at all the things that I’m grateful for and appreciate them.
  • I take my challenges as a way to improve myself.

These are the secret things that real self-improvement gurus do that make them who they are:

  • They are constantly learning
  • They don’t play the comparison game
  • They don’t complain

I also practice these things because I want to improve myself.

So, if you want to improve yourself and be the best wherever you are, use the secrets of the self-improvement influencers.
