Twins, Parents, Hospital Bed, and 4 Dead Bodies
Parents who gave birth to 10 girls in search of a single baby boy were found dead. Next to them were their perished children too.
Salman belonged to a patriarchal family, he always saw his father as a dominating figure in his family. He had pressure to give birth to boys only. Because only males were worshipped in his society. Age of ignorance was still prevalent in his village. Giving berth to a baby girl was considered a big sin as the father had to encounter various problems till her young age like dowry. Dowry was the must-have thing if there is no dowry, no respect for a girl in her husband’s family.
Contrarily, fate was not favoring Salman. His first baby was born after two years of his marriage. Unfortunately, for him, it was a baby girl. From that year to the next 20 years, consecutively, 10 baby girls had been born in search of a baby boy.
As pressure was increasing, burdens, negative thoughts, and misconceptions were adding fuel to the fire. The amount of dowry and expenditures was increasing while the resources, means, and health of Salman were decreasing.
Salman used medicines, got checked, and prayed to God but all were in vain. Ultimately, he thought, at one point, that he should get rid of his life in which he had no boy. The second thought which was roaming in his mind was to get rid of his almost dozen daughters’ lives. In fact, he outlined a whole plan to take their life to lessen his burden.
It is correctly said that man is an animal, but I would say that man is not an animal but the beast. He can do whatever he needs. But, on the verge of his plan, he thought of giving it one last try to get his desired results.
He waited one and a half years for that pain that his wife had to bear every time she had a baby in her belly. Then, everyone was optimistic. They had a yearning to have a baby boy.
Then the most awaited night came when Salman’s wife started crying with pain. He immediately called a taxi. They hurriedly went to the nearest possible hospital which was 9 km away from their village. Not having first aid services and enough staff, they referred that case to the district’s hospital which was 45 km away. Salman had no choice and time, he quickly decided to go there. There, hospital staff told Salman that his wife and child’s health was highly critical, and they couldn’t be able to take the case. But they were kind enough to give first aid which was only positive in that depressed night.
Next, Salman rushed to the city’s most advanced hospital. Here, nurses did what was necessary. At last, the case was handled. Panic moments were gone. Now, things started to go well and calmed down, but they didn’t know that It was the silence before the heinous storm. The worst was about to happen.
When Salman’s wife was being operated on. Suddenly, a nurse banged into the waiting area where Salman was sitting. She immediately asked for 2 blood bottles. Salman rushed to the blood bank, crossed matched his blood, and succeeded to get one but there was no second person to donate his blood. They were 50 km away from their village. They had no relatives in the city. They couldn’t go to other blood banks and volunteers as the time was about 2:00 am. Everyone was sleeping except Salman’s family. Though he called his friends but no one received them.
As nobody was there and Salman had no choice, he put himself up front. He knew his wife was expecting twins, more importantly, twin baby boys. He could go at any point to have them. He was living and waiting for that miracle when he would thump his baby boy’s chest and would call him by different sweet names. He wanted them at any cost. Although he was old and had no power, he offered the second blood bottle.
As soon as the blood left Salman’s veins, he became fainted and eventually expired as he was old, weak, and a heart patient. No one in his family knew about that disease except for Salman himself, but he didn’t talk about it. On the other side, His wife couldn’t bear the pain and lost her senses after giving early berth to twin baby boys. Baby boys were there but they also couldn’t go against their perished parents. They didn’t take a single breath on the Earth. In Fact, they were born dead.
Nobody knew what happened next because no one can recall that moment and no one was in senses. None was there in the whole ward who didn’t lament, cry, and yell. The entire staff including senior doctors rushed to that unfortunate bed. Life stuck for some minutes. Nobody took a single step, they were all still, silent, cold, and frozen. That sad scenes were depicting “Qayamah”. Nobody saw anything except:
