We Are The Virus

“The media is the virus” is something we can hear more often from people who are not happy with how the media has been covering the pandemic.

I agree.

I also believe the media and the state are fundamentally a single system. One does not exist without the other. I am ready to defend the statement “Media = State”. Therefore the state is the virus as well.

Joseph de Maistre, the philosopher, said every country has the government it deserves… It starts with us. Rupert Murdoch, the media mogul, said it is the audience who chose to watch the junk news in the first place… It starts with us.

The state is the virus? Probably.

The media is the virus? Probably.

We are the virus? Certainly.
