What should I look for in a childcare center?

Sep 16 · 2 min read

The child care centre is a kind of second home for my kid. As I’m a working mother, my daughter spends almost 8 hours of her day over there. Before choosing any daycare for my kid, I asked for references and it works the best. I asked people whom I know about where do they send their kid for daycare and what do they like and dislike about it.

I also had my own Daycare checklist (Listed Below). After shortlisting a few on the basis of my checklist, I chose the one which has a caring and loving staff, low kid-caregiver ratio and was hygienic. The best thing which I liked about them is that they have Illumine childcare management app, which updates me about all her activities in real time. I don’t need to wait till I go to pick her up back to ask what she did in the whole day over there. It kind of keeps me concentrate on my work as I know that she’s safe, learning and enjoying there.

Here’s my checklist to choose the best daycare for the kid:

  • Ask for references
  • Read Reviews
  • Bring your child along while visiting daycare centers for the first time
  • Look how do they keep it clean and hygienic
  • Visit on a busy day(If possible), See how other kids are enjoying.
  • Low Kid-Teacher Ratio
  • Friendly and Caring Staff
  • Child care management App
  • Trust your Gut
