The Cost of Standing Still
When I was 19, I drove across the country for five weeks with my friend’s punk band.
When I was 19, I drove across the country for five weeks with my friend’s punk band. I lived with the drummer, and he asked me to come along to sell their crap at each show. I was bagging groceries and not particularly in love with or good at it, so I quit and hit the road. We all piled into an eighty-something Chevy Suburban with all of their gear, and headed out. Because of a bass drum or something, one of us always had to ride laying down on the floor in the back seat.

Should We as Musicians Tolerate File-sharing?

However, the way we as consumers listen and share music has changed drastically throughout the last 20 years. The transition from analogue to digital media proved a huge change and allowed music to be shared very easily from person to person.
