Cauliflower Shepherd’s Pie (low-carb, gluten free)

A worthwhile meal that tastes like the real thing!

Time to create

45 minutes prep time / 45 minutes cook time

I doubled this recipe so it took me a little longer and things got a little messier. I’ll freeze the other one. The directions from this site are perfect to follow.

Substituted ground turkey
Substituted fat-free Cream of Musroom soup intead of mushrooms

Ground turkey… (1) it’s cheaper and (2) it’s better for you. Win/win.

Super tasty

The cauliflower tastes or feels just like mashed potatoes. The layer of cheese on top gives a nice consistency to round out the entire experience.

Lessons learned

I don’t think I’d do anything differently next time — all went well. Instead of using a blender for the cauliflower I used my new immersion blender. Perfect!

What it really looked like

The pie comes out nice and firm so you can actually make nice even slices.
This is a sloppy but yummy mess!
I doubled the recipe. When putting the mashed cauliflower on top I placed it in spoonfuls and then evened it out.
The layering.
The aftermath.
