【英國打工度假】2024 如何申請 National Insurance (NI) number

領取 BRP 之後就可以開始著手申請 National Insurance number (NI number)，是在英國之後的工作時會需要用上的資訊。

那什麼是 NI number 呢？UK 的 NI number 是英國的保險號碼，它對於在英國工作和生活的人來說非常重要。每個人的 NI number 是獨一無二的，用來追蹤個人的國民保險貢獻和稅務紀錄。這個號碼對於索取福利、申請免費的國民健康服務 (NHS)，以及累積退休金等權益至關重要。

國民保險是一種在英國工作的人必須支付的稅，用於資助各種福利和服務，包括失業津貼、疾病津貼、以及國家退休金等。獲得 NI number 是合法工作和居住在英國的前提之一，且每個在英國工作的人都必須有一個。對於剛到英國的人來說，申請 NI number 是他們需要完成的第一項行政程序之一。

第一階段：前置作業

文件

透過網路線上申請，並提供：

1. 護照
2. BRP

身分認證

可以用手機、平板或數位相機拍攝以下照片，並上傳：

1. 一張你拿著你的護照的照片
2. 其他相關照片

在遞交申請的過程中會告知要如何呈現該照片，也建議找其他人幫你拍會比較好呈現。

了解後就可以按下 「Apply」 開始申請。

第二階段：線上申請

我這邊選擇是，因為這個地址是我穩定的居所了，所以我沒有選擇否之後的接下來的流程。網站上說明申請成功之後的信件會在四星期內寄到這個地址，但四星期說長不長、說短不短，因此建議大家找好長期居所後再申請 NI number。

If we give you a National Insurance number, we have to send it to you by post. For security reasons, we cannot send National Insurance numbers by email. 如果我們要提供你的 NI number，我們必須透過郵件寄發。為了安全因素，我們不能透過 email 寄送給你。

We will send you a paper copy of each letter, which you can show to an employer. 我們也會寄給你副本，讓你可以提供給雇主。

We can only give you a National Insurance number if we have proof of your identity. 我們僅能在你身分驗證後才能發放 NI number

To send us proof of your identity, you need to take and upload new digital photos of all your identity documents, and a photo of yourself holding your passport. Follow the instructions on the next screens. 為了拿到你的身份證明，你需要上傳新的身份文件電子檔（此應為護照跟 BRP），還要拍攝一張自己拿著你的護照的照片。下一頁會有教學跟指示。

You can ask someone else to take the photos for you. 你也可以找人幫你拍攝照片。

#1 Get your passport ready 拿出護照

Hold your passport open to the pages that include your picture. 將你的護照有照片的那頁打開

⚠️ 注意： If you have a visa in your passport, make sure you are not taking a photo of the page that shows your vignette. 若你的護照裡有短簽或簽證，請不要拍攝到其他入境章

#2 Take a photo 拍照

Take a photo of both pages using your smartphone, tablet or digital camera. You can get someone else to take the photo for you. 透過手機、平板或數位相機將這兩頁拍起來。你也可以找人幫你拍。

Do not edit your photo. This includes changing the colours, using filters or saving it as a different file type. We can only accept *.JPG, *.JPEG and *.PNG formats. 請不要編輯你的照片，這包含改變顏色、用濾鏡或存成別的檔案格式，我們只接受 JPG, PNG 格式。

⚠️ 注意：

1. all four corners are visible 四個角都必須呈現
2. the photo is in focus 照片有對到焦
3. the details on your passport are clear enough to read 可以清楚辨識上面的文字

#3 Check the photo 確認照片

Make sure that the photo meets the requirements listed above. 請確認照片是否有合規

#4 Save the photo 儲存照片

Save the photo to the device you are using to apply for a National Insurance number. 儲存照片後就可以用來申請 NI number

#2 Take a photo 拍照

Using your smartphone, tablet or digital camera, take a photo of yourself holding your passport next to your face. Someone else can take the photo for you. 用你的手機、平板或數位相機拍張在你旁邊拿著護照的照片。也可以找別人幫你。

⚠️ 注意：Your whole face must be clearly visible and we need to be able to see that the passport photo is of you. You must: 你整個臉必須清楚可以看見，我們需要可以看到護照照片是你

• be facing forwards with a neutral expression and your eyes open 用自然的臉拍攝，眼睛必須打開
• not have anything covering your face 不能有任何東西遮蓋你的臉
• not have any dark shadows hiding your face 臉上不能有任何陰影
• not be wearing sunglasses or tinted glasses 不能帶墨鏡或有色眼鏡

If you need to wear glasses in your photo, make sure your eyes are not covered by the frames or by any glare, reflection or shadow. 如果你需要戴眼鏡，請確保你的眼睛沒有被鏡框、反光、陰影遮住

#3 Check the photo 確認照片是否合規

Make sure that 確認是否：

• your whole face is visible 確定你的臉可以看見
• all four corners of your passport are visible 護照四個角都看得到
• the photo is in focus 照片有對焦

#4 Save the photo 儲存照片

Save the photo to the device you are using to apply for a National Insurance number. 儲存照片並上傳

If your photo does not meet these requirements, we will not give you a National Insurance number. 如果你的照片不合規，我們就不會發放 NI number 給你

#1 Get your BRP ready 拿出你的 BRP

Put your BRP on a flat surface so that your picture and the BRP number are visible. 將你的 BRP 放在平面，這樣你的 BRP 照片才會清楚

#2 Take a photo 拍張照

Take a photo using your smartphone, tablet or digital camera. You can get someone else to take the photo for you. 用你的手機、平板或數位相機拍照。你也可以找人幫你。

⚠️ 注意：To avoid light reflection, take the photo in a bright room and turn the flash off. 為了避免反光，拍照時要在明亮的房間，並關掉閃光燈

Make sure that 並確保

• all four corners of the BRP are visible BPR 四個角清楚可見
• the photo is in focus 照片有對焦
• the details on your BRP are clear enough to read

#3 Check the photo 確認照片

送出後會寄一封信告訴你的 application reference number ，像下圖這樣

有收到信才能把網站關掉哦，不然四週後還沒有收到 NI number 的話就需要透過這個 application reference number 去追進度了。

第三階段：等待期

基本上要等四週左右，四週內官方不會有任何更新或通知，直到四週結束。若四週結束後還是沒有收到任何形式的通知，就需要去追進度了。

不過大家別擔心，即便現在沒有 NI number，還是可以正常在 UK 工作，只需要提供你能在 UK 工作的證明即可！

事後更新

我 2024/2/9 申請完畢，在 2024/2/15 就收到信件啦！蠻快的，大約一個禮拜左右。
