The Bailey Oratorical is truly one of Juniata College’s greatest traditions and one of the reasons why I am proud to be a student here at Juniata. To be able to listen to seven great speeches written by fellow students here at the school, it shows how amazing this college really is. Powerful observations about how we look at life is common in the speeches and they were common in these as well. Three of the speakers were not from the United States and they gave great speeches about what it was like for them to adapt to their new life in America so that they could get an education at Juniata. They did an amazing job at showing what it is like to be an international student. Some of the other speakers brought up interesting issues of accepting other people for who they are and what they believe in a way that really challenges us to think. I am always impressed at what the speakers have to say, it is always an interesting event that leaves us with a lot to take in. I was glad to be able to announce the People’s Choice Winner and to be able to help with the set up of the event. In the two years that I have remaining here at Juniata, I look forward to what the future of the Bailey Oratorical has to offer, as it proves just how much potential students at Juniata have.
