the connection between entertainment and fans

I had mentioned before that what I find interesting when it comes to social media is how it has allowed for those that create content and those who are fans of that content to interact. I’ve seen countless funny and interesting interactions between someone famous and one of their fans that went viral on social media.
for example, recently someone brought their bird to a convention and posted on twitter how they wanted them to meet Matthew Mercer. Matt Mercer then replied to them on twitter saying he was looking forward to seeing them. this then resulted in a heartfelt image of Matt Mercer holding the bird lovingly at the convention
https://twitter.com/matthewmercer/status/952428243231092736

Mercer then retweeted the image saying it was one of the best parts of the convention.
this is just one example that shows celebrities that genuinely care about their fans.
now of course there are also plenty of times when celebrities are disrespectful to their fans and that too ends up on social media, which can then have negative consequences on their public image.

the opposite can happen as well where people are disrespectful to a celebrity or someone else involved in the conversation. the celebrity responding badly could not be good for them and many just ignore those comments
but others instead try to respond to those people nicely. I remember a story about a commenter that was angry at Mattew Mercer and Mercer responded with concern for the person’s well being and thinking they needed a hug

I’m much more interested in the positive interactions that occur like this, such as those involved with in Critical Role. fans create awesome fan art of the characters in the series as with many shows. but critical role also has its own talk show stream called talks machina where those fans that create art are rewarded with giveaways such as Dungeons and Dragons wyrmwood gear that would otherwise be relatively expensive. the fans being directly rewarded for their dedication to the series.
also Critical Role donates money to carrities such as 826LA
every time they roll a natural 1 on a dice $100 are donated to the charity

I’m interested in looking more into social media interactions like those above that connect people and strive to help others
