two heads are better than one. what about a thousand?
one concept about social media I remember hearing about was using the collaboration aspect it has for people to solve problems. if each person involved has a small part of the solution it can add up to a whole solution. something that specifically comes in mind for me is how fandom of series do this to try to figure out why something happened in a series or predict what comes next. I’ve seen countless examples of single fans or groups that are extremely smart and figure out precise details about the series they’re fans of and put countless hours into
and example I recently saw was discussing what happened in the latest star wars move The Last Jedi with hyperspace ramming and how it could effect space combat:
my question is then when do the fandom of a series then start solving problems for the creators of that series. like a creator has something happen in a series that they din’t realize the full ramifications of or don’t know what will happen next. though various social media platforms they could then see what the fandom figure out which could in turn solve the problem, the creator was having from moving forward.
and as I said in the beginning this concept can work for more than just fans of a series. groups of people come together to each provide what knowledge they have and together fill in the blanks of information the others don’t and together come up with an idea and or solve a problem.
it will be interesting to see how this process grows and changes as social media does as well.
