What I found interesting about the live in public experiments was how much it did predict what the evolution of social media would be like. it was also very much an extreme prediction and took place in real life as opposed to over the internet when it came to the first experiment. it was also extreme because it wasn’t a gradual transition to what we now have today which resulted in it becoming the social norm. the lack of privacy was especially taken to the extreme because the participants had no control over what was put out as opposed to how we “post” things today in which we have more control over it. though we have lost privacy while under the illusion of control as what we do post online is shared and used by the services we use. most social media does have privacy setting for what other users can see about you on social media which provides some control.
It will be interesting to see how the boundaries of social media evolves in the future and if it will become even more like the live in public experiments as online presence becomes more and more part of everyday life

looking back at We Live in Public with the recent information privacy problem with Cambridge Analytica one can see how Living In Public predicted what having personal information accessed online could be like. people are freely giving up information online that they may not even realize about that could then be used as data for advertisements and other things. once again We Live In Public is very extreme with having no privacy and because of the Cambridge Analytica scandal laws are trying to be updated to prevent unwanted data sharing
