Living in Public

I think that josh’s upbringing played a large role in the way that he behaved as a grown man. Although he may have been a prophetic man with wild ideas, he went about things in an exceptionally unorthodox manner. Experimenting with the general public in the ways that he did made him seem almost like a cult leader in a sense. While he simply was studying the effects of the use of technology on human beings, his methods of testing were extreme to say the least.

I would also argue that Josh may have not been entirely sane. His “alter ego” or “Luvvy” the clown would lead one to believe that Harris may not be mentally stable. Again, while he was basically neglected as a child, it would make sense that he wasn’t an entirely “normal” individual. I would even suspect some sort of social disorder possibly.

Not only did Harris take it upon himself to keep individuals in an underground bunker with cameras pointed at the subjects everywhere, but after this he did the same thing to himself and his significant other. Josh was one half of the first couple to “live in public.” Not only would this living in public put Josh’s life on display for the whole world to see, but it would eventually tear his relationship apart.

I think that it would be safe to say that technology has its pros and cons. However, when taken to the extreme in the case of living in public, it can have a seriously negative effect on human being both mentally, and socially. People don’t function normally when they are constantly under a microscope knowing that they are being watched every hour of every day.
