YouTube, TikTok and Instagram are 3 of the biggest social media platforms for creators right now. Almost all content creators are using these platforms. With them being the most popular, more people have of course decided to use them. Resulting in a huge rise of content creators in the last few years. Content creation has made its name in the job world. More and more people are trying to get in to it. But it is difficult considering how many people use these platforms.

According to global media insight, YouTube has over 2 billion users. Billion. With a B. That’s more than one forth of our global population. To get recognition on a userbase as large as that seems nearly impossible. On top of that the content creators who are already at the top are producing content at such high levels. One creator, Mr. Beast, has taken this to a whole new level. He recreated the famous show, “Squid Game”, costing him nearly 4 million dollars to do so. According to the Los Angeles Times, Netflix spent about 43,500 dollars per minute on their series whereas Mr. Beast spent around 140,000 dollars per minute of his adaptation. The level of production on YouTube and other platforms has grown tremendously and has made it difficult for other users to break through.

It seems that the best way to break through is to either have a lot of funding, be extremely creative, or find a niche in the market where you can dominate and grow from there. The market is saturated. It’s as clear as day. So, it will be difficult, and will require a lot of time, energy, dedication and persistence. As someone trying to break through the noise I feel overwhelmed with the level of production quality and the amount of creators out there. But I know that there’s no harm in trying.
