The Next Decade, The Next Generation of Opportunity — Water Innovation Week 2020
Imagine H2O’s Water Innovation Week runs from March 24–26 in venues across San Francisco. With the theme “The Next Decade”, an eclectic mix of water leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, customers, advisors, students and more will meet to discuss what is possible for the sector over the next ten years. Here are five reasons why you should register for the week.
Our Accelerator 2020 companies may be our best yet
Our group of companies in 2019 were exceptional, but we think this new group has something special about them. From Oneka’s wave-powered desalination technology, to Datatecnics’ printed electronics approach to leak detection, to Mimbly’s revolutionary greywater recycling and microplastics retention unit — it’s our most varied group yet. IH2O’s companies have raised $500m over the last ten years ($300m in the last two) so we think we know how to pick ’em. Learn more about all the teams here. You can see them pitch at Demo Day on March 25th in the morning, and sign up for 1:1s with the founders in the afternoon.
Our speaker lineup for the IH2O/WEF Water Innovation Summit (March 26th) is genuinely world class
This is only our fourth Water Innovation Summit alongside our superb partners WEF, but we’ve really kicked it up a notch. We have a beautiful new home at Bespoke, but the real draw is the speaking roster. We have the Director of the Global Water Practice of the World Bank. We have the former chair of the State Water Resources Control Board of California. We have the CEOs of major private and public companies. We have the cutting edge of technology, from desalination to synthetic biology. We have innovators outside water. It’s a lineup like no other, and the insights into the next ten years in water are not to be missed.
The best opportunity to meet your WaterPeers (we may ™ that)
We have you in our beautiful city for 3 nights and 2 days because we want you to meet each other. We’ll welcome you at the wonderful, cozy Natoma Cabana under the Salesforce Tower on the 24th. After Demo Day (25th) we will host 1:1s with the Accelerator companies, and a storytelling workshop with Rogue Water. We will be organizing limited capacity roundtables for investors, customers, and founders, as well as opportunities to visit SF-based technology companies. Alongside the Summit and WaterGala (26th), we want you to find your tribe, giving you the space, time and structure to do so. Not to mention our app which will allow you to communicate with all your fellow attendees. We’re really excited for all the connections you’ll make.
2019 was quite a year for Imagine H2O — find out what we got up to
If you know us well, you know we have been flat out. 2019 saw our companies raise over $150m, with two exits (Emagin to Innovyze and Oxymem to DuPont). We held the second year of the Urban Water Challenge, supporting six top companies with $250,000 in deployment support globally. We’re deeply proud of how far we’ve come in Singapore, with Imagine H2O Asia completing its first year of operations, and now moving in to its second with a new partner — The Asian Development Bank — and an expanded program, including our second Demo Day at Singapore International Water Week. We’ll give you insight into our approach, our outcomes and our global impact, and show you how you can make a difference in the lives of these innovators.
We close out the week with the best party in water…
WaterGala 2020, our eleventh hosting of water’s favorite annual event, will be our best yet. Held at our new gorgeous venue, The Pearl in the Dogpatch, 500 of our network will be there to meet old friends, make new ones, congratulate the Accelerator 2020 companies, celebrate IH2O’s impact, meet the team, listen to a DJ that recently opened for Fleetwood Mac, and hear what we have in store for this year and beyond. It really is going to be off the chain.
If you like what you hear, register now to access the ticket link. You won’t regret it. WEF members get access to all events for $695, non-members $895. Early bird pricing expires March 3rd. Discounts available for students. See you there!
