We Hear You!

Since the initial rollout of iMeshup we’ve really gotten to know who it is that uses iMeshup. That means you! A wide group of 3D artists (think game developers and animators) and 3D technicians (like architects, 3D printers, and prototype makers) from all around the globe.

First of all, thanks for the support! As a growing company, we’ll always be extremely grateful to the pioneers who test out our website from the get-go. Secondly: thanks for the feedback! After communicating with you all, we have a clear picture of what you love, what you hate, and — most importantly — what you expect.

So, what does the iMeshup community expect?

From the creators we contacted, we’ve learned that you want to see the inclusion of more technical data: like polycount, technical specs, and support for 2D files that supplement your 3D creations. Accuracy is key for all our printers and engineers out there! On the more artistic side, we also saw high technical expectations: this means things like the ability to upload large files, support for a wider range of file formats, and the ability to work with complicated structures and hierarchies within your 3D uploads. You also have your eye on our editor — being able to seamlessly manipulate materials, textures, and lighting all rank high in your priorities.

Ch-ch-changes!

Have you noticed? We’ve totally revolutionized our pricing plans. We’ve decided no one should limit the number of models you upload with each plan, and we’ve slashed our prices, too! And last but not least: iMeshup now offers a starter plan that is COMPLETELY FREE! We’re extremely proud to offer use of our cloud-based collaboration platform with a freemium-style price plan. If you don’t have an account already, check it out now!

Looking forward

Now, the ball’s in our court. So, here’s a list of some changes we’re keen to make:

— More compatibility with various 3D file extensions
— Simultaneous multiple-file uploads
— Direct uploading, bridges, or plugins for seamless use of iMeshup in tandem with commonly-used desktop software
— Access to the meshes (direct click-selection of meshes by name, ability to group meshes within the editor)
— A broader range of editing features, including scene presets, changeable lighting and material and texture editing
— Background customization
— A “quick-edit” menu for animation, with drag-and-drop capability
— Fog, noise, and other post-production effects
— Wireframe toggle in view mode
— Ability to divide your screen (great for comparison!)

As for the networking part of iMeshup, we’re happy to say that you’ve overwhelmingly informed us that our project structure works. Although we’re proud, keep an eye out for additional account features, like an account storage usage meter and more extensive engine documentation.

That’s what we’ve got to say for now!

Time to turn the microphone back to you: What do you want to see worked into iMeshup? No bit of feedback goes unheard around here — let us know!
