Hey world, iMeshup here! Since our original launch, we’ve tried a few things out — and we’re slowly starting to discover who we are. We’re excited to be a part of the ever-growing startup culture. You may notice some differences on our website and even here on our blog — well, that’s because we’re changing.
The story
When we first started iMeshup, we had a vision that centered around serving those that use 3D models in all sectors — industry, entertainment, engineering, health, education — you name it! We were focused on one thing only: getting heavy files stored in the cloud. However, after we launched for the first time, we noticed something: the most passionate response was from game developers. We even ran a survey to gauge the needs of 3D industry, and found that the largest section of our participants (45.1%) were working in game development! It was here that we thought, we’ve stumbled into something special.
The pivot
As a result of these findings, iMeshup is transitioning to an online management system for the game development industry. It will be a place where you can store, organize, and review 3D assets — all in the cloud! We’re combining top-notch repository functionality with visually-accurate compression and viewing capability to give you a way to inspect, discuss, and accept 3D models, without the use of any desktop software. In essence, we want iMeshup to be the tool your studio uses to release your 3D games faster.
The community
We’re incredibly excited and proud to be starting something new in one of the most supportive communities out there. Game development, especially independent and by small- to mid-range studios, is an effort that embodies team spirit. As we break into this community, we’re hoping you’ll be there to share and provide feedback as we help you collaborate on the next best games.
The (near) future
We’re actively working on our new website. We plan on being live before the end of the year! Soon, you’ll be able to get all the pieces of your game together quickly with seamless uploading, on-the-model-commenting, and easy versioning. Stay tuned as we sculpt the new look and feel of iMeshup!
