This week Mike and I were able to finish the initial cuts and measurements for the external machine. This nostalgic process brought us back to math class as we precisely calculated the length difference for the rear legs using the triangle congruence postulates, mainly “angle angle side” (see @mikeanddustin on medium for a picture of these calculations.) Through this, we were able to get the exact length required for our playfield to maintain its 6 degree inclination. Apart from this, we also cut the bottom to the correct size based on the number we received for the length of the legs using the pythagorean theorem. With all of these boards cut to fit the exact dimensions we drew up, the cabinet is ready for assembly. Before we moved forward with the assembly process, it was crucial that we see how these pieces mesh without being secured. Now that we have everything fitted and appropriately sized, we can finally begin the assembly process. All of the appropriate brackets are purchased, as well as any other mounting hardware. Moving forward over the next week, we should be able to finish almost all of the assembly.
