After researching the projection mapping aspects further in week one, Mike and I decided to move beyond this task and onto more immediate priorities. Before any other aspects of the project can be developed, we must construct the pinball machine cabinet. As we do not have any of the materials currently, our main objective was going out to price materials and construct a list of costs. Going to a lumber yard seemed unnecessary as we do not need rough sawn boards, so it felt more appropriate to start somewhere else. After a trip to Home Depot Mike and I had a general idea for what we needed to purchase. The total cost is going to be about $100 for the starting materials. This includes two plywood sheets 4’x4’x ¾“ , one sheet 4’x4’x ½”, one oak board 3’x1’x1”, and some miscellaneous hardware to assemble the whole cabinet. The materials have not been purchased yet, and hopefully during this weeks upcoming thesis class we will be able to take some time and purchase the required starting materials. As we move forward into the upcoming week, the plan is to measure, cut and fit the cabinet boards, and begin constructing the exterior of the machine.
