Comic books, in general, have created a new culture of readers who aren’t so interested in looking at words on pages. The format of storytelling has changed throughout time, utilizing different methods of allowing a story to exist. We often associate stories with books, the common form of storytelling. Even though a book is a great way of creating adventures, mysteries, and action, Some readers can be bothered to deal with looking at endless pages of word soup without any visual representation. The creation of comics has solved that small issue and has created an interesting method of creating stories.

We have seen that through the years, comic books as a medium evolved through its presentation and access. The world of digital technology has offered a new opportunity for comic books to flourish in an environment that is interchangeable. You can have the panels interpret movement, add flashing colors during scenes, even basic transitions to give off a cinematic vibe. My thesis project is very similar to these actions, in which my goal is to create a unique comic book story with a sense of presence and movement.

There are lots of digital comics out on the web, but most are very basic. Most of them are simply static in their presentation, with nothing but a simple page by page layout. You can create it by those parameters, but what about adding some dynamic effects to really increase the reading experience and make it come to life. In the digital world, the possibilities are practically endless on what you can do to make the reading experience different from what most people are known to. This is what my thesis will accomplish, A better way of the reading experience.
