29th April is the deadline for all T2 modules

Project form notes: First of all, if you haven't printed and read through the Project / Story Form for T2 & T3 notes you need to do that immediately. If you do not follow the guidance carefully you will run into problems. Secondly, to try to help you manage your time I am making some interim deadlines and letting you know where you should be at week by week during Term 2 Project 2. It’s essential that you plan each week well, remember you have a weekly 40 hour time commitment and we expect nothing less in the research and reporting weeks.

Missed deadlines and / or tutorials: will be taken seriously and final grades will be penalised for late or incomplete submissions.

Resubmissions: Any student facing resubmission deadlines for prior Adres — AdPrac modules, your dates are here and we will not be reminding you further, it’s your responsibility to hand work in on time. If you would like to hand work in a week earlier to get feedback before final submission you simply need to contact either Sharron for AdPrac or David for AdRes — be aware it may take tutors 4 to 5 days to turn around feedback so you will need to negotiate this before. If you are unclear about anything speak directly with the module leader. Feel free to set up a Facetime call with David Cambell if needed. Take note failing a module twice means failing the entire programme with no further chances for resubmission. If you need to negotiate an extended deadline that needs to be done well in advance of the deadline.

We-chat updates: We expect daily (Mon to Fri) We-chat updates. If you are out of Beijing we’ll need your location. We also want to know exactly what you are doing that day. For example ‘I’m researching today’ is too vague, we want to know what you are researching. Are you researching for an infographic? Are you working on your web platform are you contacting or doing background interviews to find characters, are you shooting? Let us know with a brief but specific update.

Submitting work for interim deadlines: Project forms and ongoing work on your stories is to be submitted by dropbox / vimeo (or youtube or Youku)/ digital research page:

I have made a dedicated folder for each story. See below:

Inside each folder, you will see 6 folders to place your content or links:

  • Text (for text drafts — coached by Michael Jordan)
  • Interview transcribes (interview to be transcribed word for word in native language — but must be readable in english — MUST have timecode).
  • Project form — for Proj forms
  • Video edit links — Do not upload video to DB — instead paste a vimeo or youtube or Youku link onto a word doc.
  • Pictures — you may submit images — if you do you MUST make them very small web size images — otherwise you will block the folder and I will delete your work. We have gone through images resizing previously but if you get stuck try http://webresizer.com
  • Infographics — with links or still images, again images MUST be resized for web so as not to block folder
  • For projects on platforms and digital research, your story URL + digital research page URL should be clearly written on project form. In the first section.

Final Project submissions: Will be submitted via your project forms via dropbox on clear working URL’s by midnight 29th April. We accept no other form of submission and late submissions will automatically fail. No late submissions will be accepted unleass an extended deadline is negotiated well in advance and for a suitable reason.
