What is Immune 2.0?
Immune 1.0
Our current Immune system is amazing, it’s complex interlocking system that can handle many, many different types of threats but it’s also got some well known exploits. It’s ill equipped to deal with retroviruses, currently is too reliant on antibiotics, and it’s own overactivity is the cause of many illnesses. On top of all this it’s often too little too late for most major illnesses, and it can’t do anything about later in life diseases such as cancer and dementia. Our whole modern systems is built around compensating for this system’s faults, yet still we rely on it for letting us know when thing have gone wrong. We still lie in a reactive paradigm waiting for disease to disturb us to the point where we can’t ignore it. And only then do we take action against it, with the new paradigm things like The Upgrade will bring about it’s not only possible to change this but inevitable.
Immune 2.0
Immune 2.0 in an application of The Upgrade it constantly monitors vital signs and several biomarkers. This information is then put into the cloud and analyzed by an AI not too dissimilar to IBM’s Watson which uses this data to flag people that potentially have undiagnosed, asymptomatic physical ailments. Turning healthcare from a reactive paradigm to a predictive paradigm. Overtime Immune 2.0 could gain more and more functionality eventually making the original immune and medical systems irrelevant.
This is only one possibility that could be chosen to be pursued and developed. But it’s an extremely promising one and one that I can hopefully make a reality.
