We’ve Travelled a Long Way

We’ve travelled a long way
floating through blackness,
our particles pulled into orbits —
gravity whipping us around
then releasing
until we ended up here
swimming in molten rock
our pieces a glowing quartz wave
that mixed and shifted
until the heat of travel cooled
and life sparked,
cognizant and crawling.
