Innovate. Gain Global Visibility. Change The World.
Are you working on a hardware innovation that needs a helping hand? Do you dream about solving humanity’s toughest and most urgent problems? To create a truly innovative product that not only works, but is also scalable, profitable, and has a positive impact on society takes significant work. It requires testing, design iteration, customer feedback, and design guidance from industry experts.
Here’s how the ISHOW can help.
· Participants will receive feedback on their idea, access to industry best practice and contact with a global community of engineering experts.
· 30 finalists will pitch to the judges in person (ASME will provide travel grants towards the cost of travel) and will receive product exposure, advice and technical insights.
· 9 innovators will win a share of $500k in prizes — including an extensive design and engineering review by a panel of experts.
· Winners become part of the ISHOW alumni network, a global community of hardware innovators with exclusive access to experts and resources.
Important Dates and Deadlines
The ISHOW 2018 FINAL application deadline is approaching and we’d love to see your prototype!
In-person showcase events will take place in:
· India — April 5
· Kenya — May 10
· USA — June 21

Inventor’s Guide
Hardware is hard, but the ASME ISHOW is trying to make it easier by curating resources to inform your engineering journey. We’ve even created a design & engineering review framework specifically for hardware led social innovation, along with ISHOW FAQs, recommended reading and many more resources.
Maker Spaces Map
There are a growing number of spaces where you can meet fellow hardware innovators and make things. Incubators, fab-labs, co-working centers and maker spaces. In collaboration with the Ananse Group we have curated a map of these spaces.
Lemelson Foundation’s Guide to Impact Inventing
This report focuses on what differentiates an invention-based entrepreneur from traditional entrepreneurs and highlights what support invention-based entrepreneurs require, what resources are available, what ecosystem level gaps remain, and what tangible actions can be taken to fill these gaps.
