Affordability Accelerator Week 4 Update: User Journeys

Hello, Stakeholders of Almost Home Financial!

As a reminder, Almost Home addresses the needs of working families who can afford the costs of home ownership but are denied access to a mortgage. The company offers a financial path for home-buyers to become mortgage-ready within three to six months, including an injection of capital in the form of shared equity to resolve credit, debt and savings hurdles, as well as a personalized playbook to provide step-by-step instructions, encourage progress and track milestones.

The highlight of the week

This week we kicked off user journey interviews! We’re taking a deep-dive into how consumers currently go through the home purchase process, especially when they run into roadblocks related to their financial profile. In order to maximize the interviews, we are employing a couple of design-thinking tools, namely user personas and pathways. In December, we will host a working session with thought partners and friends of Almost Home Financial to synthesis our research findings with an objective to identify use cases for the pilot’s MVP.

User Journey Mapping

Asks

  • We are revising our revenue model (in exciting ways) and would appreciate feedback from stakeholders in the FinTech and/or mortgage lending space.
  • This week our big question is related to our Go-To-Market strategy. As we continue to have encouraging conversations with prospective financial partners and investors, we are focused on defining our launch plans. Please let me know if you have resources that might be helpful.

KPIs

The KPIs we’re tracking are those that lead to the successful launch of a pilot program in the next 9 weeks.

Consumer Traction

  • Kicked off! User Interview (1)
  • User Interview Download Process — Done

Mortgage Lender Traction

  • Introduction to potential bank partner (2)

We’re excited to build on this week’s momentum!
