3DS Goes Global While Thinking Local
Workforce Development & 3DS
3 Day Startup aims to remove barriers to innovation and create economic opportunities around the world through entrepreneurship. We enact this change through interactive educational programs that use venture creation as a medium to impart entrepreneurial skills in students. While venture creation is a tangible output of a 3DS program, the unique value lies in in our outcomes.
3DS impacts individuals and communities by empowering participants to recognize new strengths through experimentation, connection, and growth. A 3DS program provides the the spark people need to reach for new goals, be it starting a new venture, learning new skills, or making a career shift. The dynamic world we live in necessitates people simultaneously maintain a global outlook, adapt to new technologies, and think innovatively. Students, career professionals, and everyone in between are required to be aware, resilient, and creative. Simply put, entrepreneurs are the people who balance these interests harmoniously. 3DS knows how to create entrepreneurs, and in doing so can enable people to level up in their careers just by realizing the skills they’ve always possessed.
Progress and Plans
Over the past week we continued to work alongside cohort members and mentors to clarify our mission for the Workforce Development Accelerator and gather insight into pre-existing efforts in workforce development both locally and nationally. Further, we focused on how to best address what companies need through customer discovery. With the help of expert mentors we reinvisioned our strategy and pinpointed corporations as our best fit customer.
Over the next days and weeks, we will speak to potential customers to understand their hiring needs and how 3DS can facilitate the hiring process. The customer discovery process is crucial to test our assumptions on how to create a sustainable, impactful, and relevant program that works to solve an actual problem.
3DS Hits the Road
As we mentioned, 3DS attended the Global Entrepreneurship Congress last week in Istanbul, Turkey. This week 3DS team members are meeting with U.S. State Department representatives throughout Europe to discuss the development of entrepreneurship ecosystems. To tie up our transatlantic travel, 3DS will spend the next few weeks in Vienna, Linz, and Innsbruck for the Austria to Austin Roadshow! Entrepreneurial mindsets are as necessary in the US as they are abroad, and 3DS is excited to expose individuals to entrepreneurship around the world.
