We are delighted to announce the winner of our impact insurance video contest — a beautiful animated video and an important story.
The video from Sanasa Insurance Company takes us on their decade-long journey helping farmers protect themselves from climate change. In partnership with the ILO’s Impact Insurance Facility, Sanasa introduced its first index insurance product in 2009, protecting farmers against excess and deficit rainfall. Since then, the product has been expanded to cover more crops and now reaches over 65,000 farmers.
It has combined the best of old and new to do so — with a strong network of trained rural community-based organizations spreading awareness of the product, hand-in-hand with radio and mobile campaigns.
