Let's Put A Cap On It; BoothCamp

Can we quantify moments? Put them on a scale and weigh it against, who-knows-what? Give them a name so they get called for infinity? For when a thing is named, it is known.

To say this BoothCamp was anticipated would be an understatement. It’s been a long time coming from its absence of 3 years. We know how the “world happened”, and distance made us camp behind our devices this whole time. We have missed that fellowship, that feeling of community, that moment we look forward to every August.

Nostalgia guided our way to camp this year, to quench that crave, to breathe that air of unity and oneness in Christ.

Finally at camp, it was a feeling of new and also that of deja vu…

From Ballie and Fist arguing on who should eat more, to Geenat ready with the stories, from Loveth’s (the Dr) sass, to Lois (Wakili) sister’s making you see double.

Making new friends always hits well, you can ask the new Tee(Abuja), while our OG Tea (Jos) vibed, the OG TT (Mkd) a solid camp backbone as always, and then there's T (KD) you know, an engine as always.

We held tangible moments, moments that would stay in its countless moment-ness; memories for the keep.

To commune after 3 years pulled expectations above the bar, was it brought below? Did it go underground?

Uche (Abuja) and Israel (Bauchi) would agree they had an amazing time, Word and Lois would testify; their expectations as regular campers were hampered by their experiences as camp workers; the back engine that keeps the camp going.

As an engine, you find yourself worried about things not being up to the bar, you worry about others experience of camp, you want them to have the best time, that you may find yourself forgetting to have one too.

But I tell you in fact, there is no better position to be in camp than an engine…you make things happen.

This gratitude goes out to all the camp engines this year, you did an extraordinary and excellent job, give yourself a pat.

An overall experience for new campers would be the breaking of the bar, and for the OG’s, the change of leadership doubtlessly sprouted some absolutely phenomenal personalities that were hidden or perhaps kept behind the curtain, and for some, for the bar, it's a dilemma.

With the curtain drawn, the players made a wave, a wave to remember? To that I freely give a yes.

A hounourable shout out to the celebrities in camp and the newly inducted celebrities. To our new YWAP members, those under 5yrs old, we see you cuties…

To Yerang & her diligence in dishing out the meals, to Jennifer’s fire that contributed to the beauty of fellowship, to little-grown-business lady Seyil (amazing) weldone.

People coming to Christ, knowing Him was an absolute highlight.

As we look forward to another camp, let’s keep the fire on, the friendship warm, and the love ever-expanding.

Always remember, we are reached to reach others with Christ’s love.
