Discounts are Disrespectful

There are times when people will need your specific service or product. That is when you can provide for them. To help them. To serve them. As well as to be PAID BY THEM!
So when you are in the sales process and someone says, “Hey, can I get a discount?”
Without getting into the mind of your client and over thinking things, what your client is really telling you is, “My problem’s solution shouldn’t cost that much for me!”
So you have some options that many people will tell you.
The fact is, you need to know what you value is before the conversation even begins. With the cost of materials, business expenses, advertising costs and any to costs that you have associated with the providing of the service.
I hear the eggheads and the hustlers saying, “Give me some numbers!”
Minimum Wage is for the sake of conversation, $10.00 an hour. Now, to have someone supervise that minimum wage worker, well, you gotta pay them more, so around $12.00 an hour for that person. Then you get a salary worker who is going to work supervising both of those people but will be over worked and will actually be working a slave wage of $9.00 an hour due to his employees quitting because they will move on due to the pay being too low to help build commitment.
So here is the deal, working at an hourly rate is the worst situation to be in. Trading your Time for Money is always a losing battle. Trade your Skill and Talent for Money.
A minimum wage worker makes an average of $80 to $100 a day for 10 hours of labor.
A Specialist makes anywhere between $500 to $2,000.00 a day.
Plumbers, Mechanics, Electricians, Carpenters are considered great examples of Specialists. Painters, Sculptors, Chefs, and Body Workers such as Fitness Trainers and Massage Therapists are Specialists as well.
So what percentage of people in your community or that you know that can help you solve your problem?
So when I see someone that says, “Can I get it cheaper?”
I say, “No,’
I already know my value. I know how much time and effort and patience to learn what I have had to learn and to perfect it in order to serve my friends and family and to earn an income to take care of them. So taking a client on or providing a sale at discount is also a manner of saying, “Could you not maintain or raise the standard of living for your family and yourself?”
I do what I do, for my family and for myself. So when you ask me to discount something for you, you are telling me to discount my family.
To be clear, discounting my family is a deal breaker.
