Hello 2018… and hello shiny new ImpactMapper blog!

Since we are still processing the awesomeness of 2017, we thought we’d start off with a quick review of what we were up to last year!

ImpactMapper staff worked and travelled all around the world last year — from Oslo, Warsaw, Sarajevo, Geneva, Mexico City, Chiang Mai, Amsterdam, NYC, and beyond. We helped donors, nonprofits and evaluators track and visualize their social impact through their grantmaking and social change/development projects in many creative ways.

For example, in addition to our online tool for monitoring and evaluation and social impact assessment, we launched our Storytelling and Outcome Analysis training in the US, Balkans, and Mexico!

Training with Oak Foundation and Hispanics in Philanthropy in Mexico City in December 2017.
Storytelling Training with Women’s Learning Partnership in Bethesda, MD in October 2017.
Storytelling and Outcomes Training Workshop with Oak Foundation and TRAG in Sarajevo October 2017.

ImpactMapper’s Founder, Alex Pittman spent 3 months in Olso as our social enterprise was part of the Katapult Accelerator, a social impact accelerator program.

Here’s a video clip explaining why ImpactMapper was founded, shared on Katapult Demo Day with a group of social impact investors, foundations and other companies.

The stellar Katapult team supported us towards greater growth and impact in our space. Some of the development team and staff also visited Oslo and we enjoyed $15 beers and getting a little coding and design work done together in person — always a treat for a remote team!

The Numbers:

It was a year of excellent growth for us!

  • Version 2 launched this year!
  • 36 organizations (foundations, evaluators, and nonprofits) are now using ImpactMapper!
  • Oak Foundation continues to be an amazing donor and ambassador of our tool!

Just a few of our amazing clients and partners in 2017 include:

In the next few days, we will follow up with the first in our series of posts from the Development Team on the new features we launched in 2017 and a preview of what’s to come on the development pipeline in 2018!
