impactMarket, as the Human Empowerment Protocol, is moving forward in its mission to unlock opportunities for financially unserved and underserved people worldwide. As previously informed, we keep distributing Unconditional Basic Income (UBI) because we truly believe in the potential of this mechanism for poverty alleviation and also as a key driver for financial inclusion, DeFi adoption, and retention. We recently launched our crypto wallet Libera as a gateway to facilitate access to the solutions provided by our hub, and we are now giving another step in this journey towards a fairer world for everyone. You might be wondering how this new product fits into impactMarket’s work so far. With our new positioning, we are becoming a hub of accessible solutions to promote financial inclusion. The UBI is the entry point for most of our users not only to crypto but to finances in general and, by following the progress of our communities and going deeper into the understanding of their needs and interests, we identified a significant demand for practical financial knowledge. Once our beneficiaries can access tools to improve their lives, they want to go further and explore ways to leverage their funds and invest in their dreams, such as starting a small business and studying.

It gives us the knowledge and skills we need to make informed decisions about budgeting, saving, investing, and more. By becoming financially literate, we can build a brighter future for ourselves and our loved ones. We believe that knowledge is power and that’s why we’re committed to spreading financial education and helping our users to take control of their finances. Discover impactMarket’s Learn & Earn
Our Learn & Earn program provides short educational content organized in courses to impactMarket beneficiaries and soon to all Libera users. While our Learn & Earn initiative started as a means to better educate our ecosystem into the ins and outs of impactMarket, the willingness from our communities to learn more about blockchain technology, Web3, and other DeFi projects pushed us to open it to other mission-aligned partners that aim to bring DeFi to the next billion.
While there are many Learn & Earn-based projects within and beyond the Celo ecosystem, impactMarket offers valuable differences:
- Partners have access to an ever-growing audience of individuals thriving to learn more about a financial system that is accessible to them. To date, impactMarket supports more than 40 000 individuals on a daily basis, making it the most used dApp on the Celo network.
- impactMarket’s Learn & Earn is available through our dApp (accessible on smartphones and desktops) while rewards can be redeemed through Libera — the first wallet designed exclusively for emerging markets — giving partners the availability to reach an audience rarely considered by other projects.
From operating in emerging markets for the past 2 years, the impactMarket Learn&Earn initiative is built from a user-centric approach, allowing us to help any projects find the right message to reach a new and thriving audience.
How does it work?
impactMarket Learn & earn works by reading educational content that teaches users about projects and financial habits. Subsequently, the learners complete a simple quiz testing what they have learned. Upon completion, users are rewarded by receiving a project native token. For example, starting with impactMarket-related content, users — following successful completion — will receive $PACT tokens as a reward.
Partners’ projects are the ones providing the native token’s liquidity for their courses. According to the partners’ project capacity, we will decide together how many users you want to reach, and how much each user who successfully completed the quiz should be rewarded.
What does it look like?
Users can access all the lessons of our Learn & Earn courses on impactMarket’s dApp, which provides them with a seamless experience thanks to its user-centric design.
Our approach
Partners will be invited to co-create with the support of the impactMarket team, short lessons focusing on their projects. Partners will benefit from:
- Tailored lesson creation of their project focusing on the audience we know best: web3 newbies located in emerging markets;
- Reports on the number of users (and their demographics) that successfully completed the lesson and the quiz (rewards sent) as well as users that successfully completed the lesson but failed the quiz (rewards non-sent);
- Co-communication and promotion on our social media channels and communities-related channels.
Our aim is to create an attractive lesson that is understandable by the majority and that gives our users the possibility to deep dive into partners’ projects while becoming financially literate. Lessons are built to encourage users to interact with the project provider as much as possible through everyday examples.
