My heart is beating fast as I leave my motel room, double-checking that the door is locked behind me. I glance around, making sure nobody is around — I’m not sure what I think they’ll see if they are. I’m just a girl going for a walk. Alone. In the middle of the goddamn night. But my nerves have me on edge. I’ve never done anything like this before. It’s exciting and terrifying at the same time.
