Q&A with Smart Hybrid

What was the point of inspiration for your innovation?
Sitting in the back of a hybrid car, we questioned whether it would be possible to increase the efficiency of the vehicle without a step-change in technology. That’s how our idea of an intelligent energy management system — a Smart Hybrid — was born.
How did you come together as a team?
With our first joint engineering ventures as kids, we know each other’s skills and abilities inside out. Combining core strengths in chemical and mechanical engineering, we developed a working model to validate our concept.
What has your journey been since then? How has the VCC helped?
Arriving with an idea and working model, we have developed a deeper understanding of our potential customers and market, and crucially how to go about protecting our idea.
What is the vision for your company?
We are looking to protect and then license our technology to the auto suppliers in the field. We are also interested in examining other applications of our technology.
