Online advertising, headed to Bankruptville fast. [Pay-per-click is dead.]
This will come as no shock: online advertising has become annoying and expensive.

Annoying because views are sold by the ton and shoved up screens almost indiscriminately to consumers unaware they can turn ad blockers on. Instead they turn ad blind.

And expensive because the ad exchange makes the market and raises prices. Between 2008 and 2016 alone, average conversion costs [paid to Google] for online retailing* went from $0.93 to $17, a stratospheric 1827% increase.

For the advertiser, that means increased marketing costs and staff expenses, to feed the new marketing bureaucracy. [It’s as close to taxes as it gets.] All that for unengaged if not pissed consumers.

The status quo eats at the heart of two building blocks of the establishment.

One: that consumers matter. Their needs and wants generate consumption that keeps the economy going.

Two: that brands exist to serve those needs and wants. That’s what makes them legit.

Advertising is supposed to connect these dots.

And right now, online advertising erodes what it should build: the relationship. Romance became nagging with a high price tag, and a nasty divorce in the making.

Can online advertising be sexy?
To advertise comes from the Latin advertere, “to turn towards.” Can online advertising make consumers turn towards rather than away from their message?

Yes, if the ads become content the consumers are actually interested in. Because it gets personal and talks to them about something they actually want to listen to. Motivation always beats assault.

The game changer
Impetus. One is a revolutionary advertising engine that rewards customers on a mission completion principle.

Pay-per-mission is a concept running on human motivation, pairing consumer wants with the impetus to get it done. With Impetus. One, it can become an individual conversation between brands and every consumer through mobile targeting.

Advertisers add campaigns on the Impetus. One platform and are only debited for completed missions. Publishers register their apps on the platform and get a cut of the completed mission reward. Consumers are recruited for the mission through their app of choice, sign up for a free account with Impetus. One and, upon mission completion, are credited the reward in Impetus coin in their e-wallets.

When the mission registers as complete, the platform charges the advertiser the total cost, pays the customer 70%, 20% to the publisher and keeps 10% in.

To cash their reward, the consumers download the Impetus. One mobile app and can cash out at the official Impetus platform rate of1$ for 1 Impetus. They can then exchange it into their currency or make Impetus payments wherever Impetus is accepted.

Missions will be domain specific, and will allow the advertiser to precisely target customer actions. An event organizer will reward customers based on their participation at the event, verified with the customer’s location. A sports brand will reward users for running X miles or burning Y calories. Specific goals and rewards defined in relation to consumers’ goals will lead to higher CTR (Click Through Rate) and Mission Fulfilment Rates (MFR).

Blockchain meets online advertising.
We got the idea in the trenches of online retail. Frustration over staggering PPC rates made us wonder if customers wouldn’t be better off if we just split the ad cost with them, to spend on our inventory. We were set on mobile targeting technology but were, in the traditional economy, stopped in our tracks by banking fees. Blockchain brings about a whole new channel of customer-brand interaction otherwise not possible.

Impetus, a cryptocurrency, makes these transactions feasible fast and easy.

ERC20 token will be the only currency available in the Impetus. One ecosystem. A mobile ad reviewing app will push the Impetus. One token into the market, with cryptocurrency rewards to ad reviewers.

For everyone with a smartphone and a goal, Impetus.
Impetus aims at the online advertising market’s inefficiency and lack of proper targeting techniques. All market participants get a cut of the gains.

Impetus. One brings about actionable, one on one relationships with customers, fee free. In a game changing move, ads become content consumers actually want to see, follow and act on.
