As important as Time management is, managing your stress is an important asset to include in your work ethic as well. If you are unable to handle and maintain your stress levels, it can be detrimental to yourself as well as the quality of work you are producing. Being open-minded and adopting techniques to improve on handling stresses will be beneficial for both stress and time management.

The book “A Textbook of Stress For College Students” by James H. Humphrey emphasizes the importance of personal health and stress management. One particular paragraph that stood out to me in chapter 7 was when the author describes health practice, “Altering behavior is not always an easy matter; however, we are hopeful that most persons will want to make a positive modification of their own health behavior after acquiring desirable health knowledge and forming favorable attitudes” (Humphrey, 1982). In other words, it is hard to eliminate bad behavior and bad habits, but most people will want to change to better themselves as well as their health behavior.

Having this outlook on life when you are undergoing stressful situations will definitely improve how you handle stresses in certain situations. By giving off the attitude of wanting to progress and improve yourself by working on your stress management, it will make you more motivated to master that technique and apply it to other things. In order to avoid stressful situations such as waiting till last minute to complete a task, knowing to distribute your work ahead of time will allow you to complete it without being under a crunch time. Managing your stress effectively will ultimately help your time management in the long run.
