Post 1. HEADED FOR TOKYO

I opened my eyes suddenly. Must have been a turbulence. I checked the wristwatch on my left hand. It’s been 5 hours since flight QR182 took off from Doha on 23rd of June. I tried to calculate how many hours ago I left my flat in Ljubljana. “20, 22…” Not sure.

All has been moving so fast for the last few weeks for imusify. We are picking up speed, moving faster and faster towards the public token sale and launch of the platform. New partnerships, new alliances, new team members, new ideas, new challenges.

I stood up to stretch my legs. It’s an interesting view. All these people 11,921 meters above the ground, sitting comfortably in their chairs, while the iron bird cuts through the cold air 1000 km per hour. Row after row of small screens light up the dim belly of the craft, carrying us towards Tokyo. I take a deep breath and enjoy a moment of calm serenity. 4 hours to go.

On the 25th, the morning after I arrived at our hotel in Tokyo, we were about to meet our host, Miki Hayama, head of Japan Operations for NEO Smart Economy. Since winning the 2nd place on the City of Zion competition, imusify has become a strong player in the NEO community. NEO’s invitation to join the Japan Roadshow, however, came as a pleasant surprise, confirming that our ties have grown even stronger in the last few months.

David and I met in the hotel lobby. Embracing the style of the new breed of millennial entrepreneurs, he was dressed in a black t-shirt and jeans. If he was tired after more than 30 hours of travelling from Berlin to Tokyo, he did not show it. We hailed a cab and raced to the location. Miki and the guys from Switcheo (decentralised exchange) team were already waiting.

The Japanese seem to harbor quite peculiar appreciation for boxy, fifties style cabs. The driver opened a door for us, and we suddenly stood in front of a new office building with multiple co-working spaces. This is where we meet the guys from Switcheo for the first time. Ivan, Jack, Cassandra and Ingrid shook our hands and Miki escorted us to the 5th floor.

We spent the rest of the day working on our presentations for the Tokyo Blockchain Conference. Little did we know what Tokyo has in store for us…
