10 Reasons Why You Should Make Regular Saunas a Habit
Sweat it out and reap the rewards!
With origins tracing back thousands of years, saunas have been a cornerstone of wellness in many cultures. Today, saunas continue to be a popular way to unwind.
But the benefits of this age-old tradition go far beyond a place to relax after a long day.
Saunas provide many benefits that can profoundly impact our mental and physical well-being.
In this article, we’ll explore 10 benefits of regularly using a sauna.
What is a Sauna?
A sauna is a small room or building designed to house people to experience short-term dry or wet heat sessions. They are usually made of wood and have benches for sitting.
Saunas originated in Finland over 2,000 years ago. The term is even Finnish. Close relatives include the Russian banya, the Turkish hammam, and the Native American sweat lodge traditions of Native American tribes.
They’ve since become a global practice. I live in New Zealand and enjoy a sauna day on Sunday at the local pool and it's always busy.
