Picture this: It’s a typical evening for you like any other day. You’ve come home from work or college. You get some food and rest in you.

You wake up, thinking about working out while you’re sitting on the couch wrapped around in the blanket, watching your favorite show on Netflix, with popcorn in one hand and remote in the other. You had promised yourself that you would hit the gym later.

“I’ll just watch one more episode,” You say to yourself. As you press ‘Next’, deep down, you know that it’s the wrong decision.

Fast forward a couple of episodes and a few handfuls of popcorn later, and you find yourself regretting that decision.

You wanted to get up, but it felt like a Herculean task. Your gym equipment remained untouched, and you, full of popcorn and regret.

If that sounds familiar, we’ve all been there. Me too. Caught between the never-ending battle of activeness and relaxation. We don’t feel motivated to work out, so we let our enemy, relaxation, win.

But it’s moments like this that remind us how important motivation is, not just in fitness, but in anything we want to accomplish.
