I can barely believe it. I like to be in denial about my age, but it’s happening.
40.
I’m an active person. I played a bunch of sports growing up and as an adult. I also have a long history in the gym. I’ve been regularly (religiously) resistance training for nearly twenty years — a couple in the high school gym and since my early to mid-twenties.
Deep-diving into my three-decades-plus transformation is out of the scope of this article. I’ve already done so in another.
What I instead want to talk about is how my training habits and style have changed in recent times. This is for one core reason:
Aging slows us. Period.
Respecting nature, we need to adapt our exercise habits accordingly. Sucks but it is what it is. In this article, we’ll examine 5 ways my exercise habits have changed as I approach forty.
