Should we drink coffee every day?

Should we drink it at all? Many studies have sought to find the answer to these questions. With so many conflicting opinions, it’s hard to know what to do.

Fortunately, more and more studies are stacking up in favor of drinking coffee on a daily basis.

The Verdict

A large study conducted in the UK by the UK Biobank looked at the coffee consumption of 449,563 people.

People who drank 2–3 cups of coffee each day had better odds of living longer than those who didn’t drink any.

“The results suggest that mild to moderate intake of ground, instant and decaffeinated coffee should be considered part of a healthy lifestyle.” — Study researchers

The researchers weren’t exactly sure what aspect of coffee could lead to these profound results, as the same association was also found in those who drink decaffeinated coffee (so it’s probably not the caffeine).
