After choosing a perfect trail for your walking exercise and thoroughly enjoying it, you find some people stretching near the parking lot. You remember, right, stretching! Not wanting to copy what they’re doing, you try thinking of some stretches, but memory fails you.

Walking, like any other exercise can be streneous to your lower body muscles. To avoid this, add a stretch routine to make it complete.

Today, I will share with you 5 simple standing stretches that you can master, so that you never find yourself in such a situation ever again. These stretches are important for cooling you down and increasing your flexibility. Let’s get right into it!

1. Quad Stretch

While standing upright with your chest out, hold your ankle behind to touch your bum and feel the stretch on your quad (the front muscles on your thigh). If you find yourself losing balance, hold onto something near you. Hold the stretch for 15–20 seconds. Do the same for the other leg.

2. Hamstring stretch

With one foot in front of the other, take a step forward then bend down as if trying to reach your toes. You should feel the stretch in your hamstrings (the muscles behind your thighs) of your rear leg. Hold the stretch for 15- 20 seconds then do the same for…
