Ladies, This One Simple Thing Every Day May Inhibit Early Menopause
The good news is anyone can do it
Early menopause doesn’t occur in many women — but some start to get symptoms as early as their late 30s or early 40s (and some a lot sooner).
It affects about 10 per cent of women and has been closely linked to a higher risk of cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis and early cognitive decline.
Scientists have linked the intake of vegetable protein, which is associated with inhibiting menopause symptoms.
The School of Public Health and Health Sciences at UMass Amherst wanted to evaluate the relationship between diet and the risk of early menopause among the nurse members. This ongoing study involved 116,000 women aged between 25–42 and began in 1989.
All participants noted how often they ate a single serving o 131 foods, beverages and supplements.
Researchers stipulated that those women who ate, on average, 6.5 per cent of their calories as vegetable protein had a 16 per cent lower risk of early menopause than those who ate 4 per cent of their calories as veggies.
