Wanna lose weight? Eat less.

But eating less = being hungry. No bueno, bye.

Hey, wait a minute.

What if I tell you that you can eat less and not be hungry? Impossible? I thought like that too until I found it — the Holy Grail of weight loss:

Disclaimer: I am not a certified professional. This article is the result of my limited experience. Always, always consult your doctor or another certified professional before putting into practice any advice I provide here.

The Holy Grail, in my case

Bulletproof coffee

With 6g of Ghee and 6g of MCT oil, it leaves me unhungry until 2 pm.

Afternoon protein snack

Egg whites, grilled chicken breast, or any other lean meat. Protein powder works fine too. I aim at 40g of protein, which leaves me unhungry until dinner.

Dinner

A regular dinner, nothing fancy. The only requirement is that it contains at least 50g of protein. It keeps me unhungry until bedtime.

Unhungry, unhungry, unhungry. Why do you think I named it the Holy Grail?

Minimum protein intake

To minimize muscle loss, keep a minimum protein intake of 1.2g per kg of body weight. For a 75kg guy like me, it amounts to 90g. Do the math for your case and supplement as necessary.

You may have to adjust

If you feel hungry by noon, anticipate the protein snack. You can always add another one at 3 pm and have dinner at 7 pm.

Don’t be afraid, it’s temporary

I don’t know the long-term effects of this diet. But you know what? I don’t need to. Why?

Because I’ll do it sporadically.

Worry not about what you do from time to time, but about what you do regularly.

Take my case: I wanted to lose 4 kg. So, I “drank” from the Holy Grail for a few weeks and lost 4kg. Now, I follow a normal diet and my weight is stable.

Poking life

“The minute you understand that you can poke life, and that if you push something in, something will pop out the other side. That you can change it and you can mold it… That’s maybe the most important thing… Embrace it, change it, improve it, make your mark upon it. Once you learn that, you’ll want to change life and make it better. You’ll never be the same again.” — Steve Jobs

Jobs is right.

One day I thought to myself: “I’m not hungry at noon… Maybe I could have lunch at 2 pm”. Then I did it and it went well. The other day I thought: “What would happen if I had a protein shake instead of lunch?”. Then I tried it, and here we are.

Poke life. Who knows a Holy Grail pops out the other side?
