From Miles to Milestones: 3 Ways Running Transformed My Life
Fight your demons instead of giving up.
I struggle to move. The throbbing pain of my wounded knee and my labored breathing make it hard to walk, and running seems impossible.
“Calm down,” I tell myself as I inch forward.
As I entered the finish line, a potpourri of emotions overwhelmed my mind.
Grateful and relieved that I had again achieved something I never thought possible, I tried to push the anger about my fall aside.

I was proud of the woman I had become.
Running is more to me than just a means to stay fit, reduce stress, or enjoy nature.
Running is my mentor, spiritual teacher, and a never-ending source of inspiration.
It empowered me to transform from a socially anxious, self-loathing individual who felt victimized and was full of self-pity into a self-confident, optimistic woman who feels she is in the driver’s seat of her life.
