GLP-1 Drugs Are Amazing, But They Need Help

As with most things in health, a combination treatment is best

Ten years of clinical practice reveals many important insights about health and wellness. I have lost track of the number of times I have changed my treatment approach as new evidence came to light. However, one thing has remained consistent since I started physical therapy school.

Combination therapy is always best.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach or universal treatment to anything. Every aspect of our health has biological, psychological, and social influences. All of our experiences are unique. Each body is different in some way.

Each treatment is unique as well.

Sure, medication doses may be the same across people, but that doesn’t mean the way it is administered or adhered to is the same. Do you do everything a health provider prescribes every time?

Studies show that medication non-adherence accounts for up to 50% of treatment failures and 25% of hospitalizations in the US each year. Even if someone follows medication adherence completely, that is never the full treatment.
