When it comes to weight loss, one of the most commonly asked questions is how long will it take to lose weight? The answer is: it depends. Unfortunately, there is no one clear, universally applicable answer when it comes to achieving weight loss. There are many factors that come into play, including your age, gender, current body weight, activity levels, any conditions that affect your ability to lose weight, and so much more.
When I worked as a health coach, I guided many, many people through weight loss journeys (pre-Ozempic!). The truth is: the time to lose weight varies drastically from person to person. But one thing that I’ve found to be useful amongst all of my clients is to understand some of the science of how you actually lose weight. It can help rid you of the fear after you gain 5 lbs after a heavy meal, or why your weight loss stagnates after a few months.
