Anthropogenic studies have shown that an upright, well-balanced posture is one of the defining features of homo sapiens.

Is it possible to escape the effect of gravity on our posture? Gravity definitely resists us more or less to be upright or functional. Not only gravity but there are other factors too like excess fat around the breasts. I was too a victim of bad posture because of the anatomy of my body. Blaming this to the anatomy is not a good escape, my 6–7 hours desk job and my weight gain were equally responsible for my bad posture.

Anyways!

Coming to, why does good posture matter?

Firstly lousy posture is not a bad habit, but having a lousy posture means having inflexible muscles. Overly tight chest muscles can pull your shoulders forward, or tug your upper body. If you really want your muscles to work efficiently, trust me! A good posture is key. The rewards associated with good posture is not just musculoskeletal. Several studies have shown that posture to some extends actually creates and reinforces the emotional state. Emotions and posture probably do influence each other to some degree. The classic example is depression: a depressed person will adopt a distinctively depressed posture, which can be quite obvious to everyone around them. Less obviously, a depressed posture may also generate depression.

After, looking into all the benefits of “good posture” here is the actual work :

The basic idea is to keep your body aligned, keeping the spine’s natural curvature with a straight neck and shoulders parallel with the hips.

For all this to happen, you have to strengthen the abdominal, spinel, and shoulders. And have to inbuild the identity of a person, who is mindful of his/her body posture.

It has been proved that dietary strategies can optimize bone health and can prevent osteoporosis as well. The most potential dietary sources are calcium, vitamin D, vitamin K1, phytoestrogens, protein, and nondigestible oligosaccharides.
