Ketosis is a stage in which your body goes into, in order to burn fuel and keep your body running. It’s actually pretty cool! In ketosis, your body starts to utilize mostly fatty acids from the triglycerides that are stored in your adipose tissue and other cells, along with the fats that you consume through your diet. I know right! That’s why the ketogenic diet is so famous now for fat/weight loss.
During a ketogenic diet, you are supposed to consume almost no carbohydrates. This means that most of your calories should come from proteins and fats (more calories should be coming from the fats compared to the calories from proteins).
