How Young Can You Start Working Out? The Strange Life Of The World’s Strongest Boy
Was “Little Hercules” pushed into a regime not suited for a young child?
The pictures are both impressive and disturbing.
They show an eight-year-old Richard Sandrak in various poses that showcase a physique that would put most bodybuilders to shame.
Sandrak came to fame thanks to an appearance on an episode of Ripley’s Believe It Or Not, followed by a documentary called The World’s Strongest Boy. With his eight-pack and oiled body, he earned the monikers ‘Little Hercules” and “Mini Schwarzenegger.’
Sandrak could lift three times his own body weight and had less than 1% body fat. At an age when I was still playing with Lego and could barely lift 10 pounds, Sandrak had the body of a professional athlete.
Pound for pound, he was the strongest person in the world.
This may sound impressive, but it leads to several questions:
- How healthy is this?
- Was it Sandrak or his parents driving him to undergo a ridiculous fitness routine at such a young age?
- What does Sandrak look like now?
- And, how young is too young to start a strict fitness…
